Is something wrong with the Exynos 2200; Samsung confirms chipset launch delay

Samsung-Exynos

Something odd has happened to the Exynos 2200. Just yesterday, the company was supposed to host an event that would see the unveiling of the chipset expected to power the upcoming Galaxy S22.

Unfortunately, the event went bust and the company proceeded to quietly delete the tweet announcing it. Samsung didn’t say a word. It’s quite rare for companies to cancel launch events, let alone doing it without saying so.

While Samsung didn’t give a reason as to why the event was canceled, the company has today confirmed the Exynos 2200 will launch alongside a new Samsung Galaxy.

“We are planning to unveil the new application processor at the time of launching a new Samsung smartphone,” an official for Samsung Electronics claimed, adding that “There are no problems with the AP’s production and performance.”

The statement appears to discredit rumors about the chipset not being used for the Galaxy S22 series at all. A tipster claimed that all Galaxy S22 variants across the globe will come equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset.

However, Samsung’s statement is still vague at best since they didn’t say which new smartphone exactly. Whatever could be the reason behind this, we don’t know, but given the lack of notice, something sudden may have come up.

We’ll be sure to keep you posted on any other matters regarding the Exynos 2200.
