Samsung is working on the Galaxy A70e, a mid-range Android smartphone rumored to have a budget price tag

Samsung is rumored to be working on a budget variant of the Galaxy A70. This is according to info that was first published on Onleaks.

The smartphone goes by Samsung Galaxy A70e. The ‘e’ moniker has historically been used by Samsung to signify a budget variant of an already existing Galaxy smartphone.

The Samsung Galaxy A70, a smartphone that launched in mid-2019, is in itself a decent smartphone and probably one of the best mid-range smartphones of 2010.

It is largely expected that the Galaxy A70e will come with watered down technical specifications, a deliberate move to minimize its bill of materials.

You can therefore, expect Samsung to switch the gorgeous AMOLED display found on the A70 with a LCD display to save on costs.

The Galaxy A70e is also expected to lack the under-the-display fingerprint sensor and in its place have a rear-mounted finger-print scanner.

The Samsung Galaxy A70 has a launch price of around Ksh. 39,000 and you can therefore, expect the upcoming Galaxy A70e to have a intial launch price of below Ksh. 30,000.

The leaks didn’t include the date when the Samsung Galaxy A70e will launch.

It is however, expected that the phone will have a soft-launch as the spot-light is now firmly affixed on the recently launched premium Samsung devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S20 and the Galaxy Z Flip.
