The TECNO Camon 18 series is now available in Kenya. TECNO launched the series comprising of the Camon 18, 18P and 18 Premier at a spectacular event held at the Movenpick Residence in Nairobi Kenya.
The event was graced by a couple of influencers including Diana Marua, Joy Kendi, Nick Mutuma, Bridget Shighadi, The Magunga, Silvia Njoki, Seth Gor, Frankie Just Gym it among many others.
To hallmark the whole occasion, there was a slideshow gallery of incredible photos captured by the stellar camera and video capabilities of the Camon 18. The main event then followed, hosted by experienced news host, Mark Masai.
TECNO’s marketing manager, Shiva, expressed that through the support of customers, TECNO has consistently been ranked among the most admired brands in Africa. She further added that the Camon series in particular has been about introducing cutting edge and stylish smartphones to the global emerging market.
That’s why the Camon 18 series features an impressive technical profile, with the focus being on camera innovations such as the Gimbal module and a stylish exquisite design.
To start off the lineup, the Camon 18 Premier packs a large 6.7-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, a Helio G96 chipset coupled with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. At the back, we have 64MP triple camera set up with a Gimbal camera and upfront, we get a 32MP selfie shooter.
By the way, if you are curious about what the gimbal module does, is it stabilizes pictures to counter the effects of shaking when taking pictures or videos.
Powering the whole device is a 4750mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging. The Premier runs Android 11 out of the box, but TECNO promises Android 12 is coming soon.
The 18P is the middle child, coming with the same display features and chipset as the Premier, but scales down on camera specs (48MP lens at the back and 16MP lens on the front) and internal storage (128GB). However, it does get a bigger battery capacity (5000mAh) with the same 33W fast charging support.
Lastly, we have the entry model Camon 18. It’s quite similar to the 18P in terms of storage, battery capacity and display, but it also has its minor adjustments as well to justify its position in the hierarchy. The smartphone comes equipped with a Helio G88 Extreme Performance chipset, 4GB RAM, 90Hz refresh rate and, 18W fast charging.
The price for the Camon 18 starts at Ksh. 21,999 with the 18P and 18 Premier following at Ksh. 27,599 and Ksh. 39,499 respectively.
