There is a significant number of mostly young smartphone users who earn a living by sharing their gaming clips online.

It’s pretty simple, they record their gameplay of popular games such as PUBG Mobile, upload the clip to YouTube, get people to view the clips and at end of it all, earn some ad revenue. In fact, 15% of content uploaded to YouTube is related to gaming.

However, there is one particular annoyance when capturing a screen record on Android. Android does not offer native support to capture audio directly from game but rather captures the audio from the smartphone speakers.

Therefore, the quality of the audio captured depends on the quality of the speakers as well as the noise levels of the surrounding environment.

Yes, this is pretty much a first world problem that affects a micro-niche segment of smartphone users.

Nevertheless, Google has sort out the issue and Android Q, the next version of Android, will support native streaming of audio from the app to the recording service.

The feature will not only lead to an improvement in the quality of the audio recorded, but also sorts out audio and video sync issues.

Quick thought, Google launched stadia a couple of months back. This feature will probably come in handy to those using the Stadia platform.
