Xiaomi is expected to refresh its lineup soon and, at the top of the list is an upgraded Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro dubbed the 12T and 12T Pro.

Both phones pack better specs and a refurbished design including a new Lunar Silver shade to differentiate them from other upcoming models, specifically the 12 and the 12S.

The 12T and 12T Pro are to arrive packing 6.67-inch AMOLED displays with 1220 x 2712 pixels resolution. A 120Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla glass 5 protection are also in the mix as well as an under-display fingerprint sensor.

Performance-wise, the 12T Pro will come equipped with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset from Qualcomm coupled up with 12GB RAM while the vanilla will boast MediaTek’s Dimensity 8100 SoC alongside 8GB of memory.

Both smartphones sport a 5,000mAh battery supporting 120W fast charging. The duo will run Android 12 OS with Xiaomi’s MIUI.

Now, the main focus of attention on the 12T Pro was its camera. The device will be Xiaomi’s first phone with a 200MP camera from Samsung. It has an f/1.69 aperture and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). Am eccentric to see how Xiaomi will utilize the shooter in terms of camera software.

The 12T, on the other hand, will make do with a sufficient 108MP main. The remaining 8MP Ultra and 2MP macro will be shared across the two models in conjunction with a 20MP lens upfront for selfies and video calls.

The Xiaomi 12T and 12T Pro are expected to launch sometime in October and should arrive in the local market by the end of the year.
