TECNO has once again been ranked as the 6th most admired brand in Africa. This is the sixth time the smartphone brand has been featured in the Brand Africa 100: Africa’s Best Brands rankings report.
The survey was conducted by the Data collection platform GeoPoll in 29 countries covering all economic regions and was published by South African based How We Made it in Africa magazine.
The smartphone manufacturer has recently been in the headlines for winning this year’s iF design award courtesy of the Phantom X and the soon-to-be-launched Camon 19 series.
Additionally, entering the top 20, we have itel ranking at 15th, six positions higher than it was in 2021, beating brands like Pepsi and Louis Vuitton. Through promos, local ambassadors, and incredible smartphones like the A58, itel has gradually acquired a steady market share in the continent.
TECNO affiliate and Transsion-owned Infinix is still working on its progress to rise in the ranks as it clinched 25th position same as last year. Recent market entrants Xiaomi ranked 41st while OPPO mobile dropped to 68thposition.
Both TECNO and itel have grown popularly over the years since they both started out targeting African markets largely ignored by other smartphone vendors.
The brands will now be looking to enhance operations while still delivering awesome yet affordable smartphones built for Africa.
