Infinix to launch an e-commerce website soon

Infinix is working toward launching a dedicated e-commerce website in Kenya.

This is according to a post that first appeared on the XCLUB forum, as well as its official social media pages.

Infinix XMALL Kenya

The Infinix-only e-commerce site dubbed XMALL, promises among other things, great prices, smooth logistics and first-rate after sale services through Carlcare.

Launching an e-commerce website is a rather bold move by the smartphone vendor since most prefer to use established platforms such as Jumia and Kilimall. However, if done right, XMALL could be of immense benefit to the brand.

The smartphone industry is super competitive and investing on more channels to reach customers is an awesome move that will give Infinix Mobility an edge over the competition.

E-commerce is tricky and most players in the space are able to turn a profit after gaining economies of scale. It will, therefore, be very interesting to see how Infinix fairs and whether other smartphone vendors will also decide to build an E-commerce platform from scratch.

It is noteworthy to mention that has lots of experience with E-commerce. Infinix has a fighting chance of making the platform work primarily due to the fact that it launched a similar e-commerce site in Egypt just about a year ago.

One Plus Executive, Carl Pei, recently reiterated the strategic importance of an e-commerce platform in an interview. If XMALL indeed turns out to be a success, Infinix could cement its market leadership position further.
