The Infinix Hot S3X is now available on the Kenyan market. The launch of the phone comes just a couple of weeks after the launch of the Hot S3 (Safaricom version).
The Hot S3X is unique. It’s the first Infinix smartphone to have a notch. I know this isn’t exactly exciting considering that a notch is a design limitation and shouldn’t be a design feature.
Nevertheless, notches are pretty cool and once you get to use a smartphone with one, you will get used to understand why they are in vogue.

The Infinix Hot S3X features a 6.2- inch IPS infinity display. The display has a 720 x 1500 Pixels HD+ resolution and it’s quite good.
The highlight of the display as mentioned above, is the notch. The notch features prominently on the top section of the display. The desire for a full screen experience is what motivated the use of notches on smartphones. However, for this case, it’s a bit redundant to have a notch whereas you some pretty thick bezels.
There is, however, a silver lining to this. Smartphone displays have for long featured the same design concept. What changed most was the size and resolution. I feel like the notch, even though poorly implemented on some smartphones, is a necessary evil.
It’s noteworthy to mention that Google gave some guidelines on the implementation of the notch and let’s just hope smartphone vendors won’t get carried away.

The Hot S3X has a sleek design. Even though the phone has a polycarbonate construction, Infinix did a great job at making the smartphone look and feel like a premium device.
