Recently, the giant behind the most popular movies and TV shows streaming service announced it’s now working on its own gaming platform.

Today, Netflix revealed that its efforts will be focused on mobile games and that the games will be included with user’s Netflix subscriptions.

The news comes just days after the company said it hired former Electronic Arts (EA) and Facebook Inc. executive Mike Verdu to get things off the ground. Further, Netflix confirmed construction of a gaming division is underway with some roles being advertised on its website.

“We view gaming as another new content category for us, similar to our expansion into original films, animation, and unscripted TV. Games will be included in members’ Netflix subscription at no additional cost similar to films and series.” Netflix said in a letter to its investors.

Apparently, the games will appear alongside as a new genre, similar to what Netflix did with documentaries and stand-up specials.

There are still no details at this point on what games would be available through Netflix or on what devices, but typical for Netflix, the library may start out with a just a few games.
