OPPO’s budget smartphone, the A16 spotted on Geekbench; expected to launch soon

Recent reports have that OPPO is working on an affordable A-series smartphone called the A16, which is expected to replace the OPPO A15 from last year.

The budget smartphone has already been certified by a bunch of authorities and has now been spotted on Geekbench.

Based on the database listing, expect a solid profile just like its predecessor with some notable upgrades. The A16 is powered by MediaTek’s Helio G35 chipset similar to Infinix’s Hot 10 Play and 3GB of RAM.

The smartphone runs Android 11 out of the box alongside colorOS 11.1. Plus, it comes equipped with a 5000mAh battery that supports 10W charging.

When tested on Geekbench, the handset managed to score 177 points in the single-core test and 950 points in the multi-core test, which is decent.

As of now, there is no word from OPPO regarding the A16, but based on the several certifications it has bagged, the launch should be imminent.
