OPPO Find X4 and Redmi K50 phones to come powered by the new Dimensity 9000 chipset; MediaTek confirms

MediaTek-Dimensity-9000

MediaTek recently unveiled its latest flagship chipset, the Dimensity 9000 SoC, and today, the company sheds more light on the first devices to feature the new SoC.

Before we move any further, it’s worth noting that the Taiwanese chip designer launched the processor specifically aiming to compete with Qualcomm’s top-tier chipsets e.g., the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

For a couple of years, MediaTek’s flagship chipsets such as the Dimensity 1200 and 1000 series have been delivering top-notch performance.

But truth be told, these chips still didn’t quite measure up to the Snapdragon 800 series, with device makers opting for the Snapdragon 888 family for their high-end smartphones.

Now, MediaTek is on the offense and moving in on Qualcomm’s flagship territory. Some smartphone brands have supported this competitive power move by announcing some of their flagships that will host this impressive processor.

Leading the pack, we have OPPO who revealed the next Find X flagship will be the first to be launched with the Dimensity 9000. The flagship is most likely the Vanilla Find X4 since we already have confirmation that the X4 Pro will come equipped with the 8 Gen 1.

Xiaomi also confirmed the chip will make an appearance in the Redmi K50 series but didn’t say which particular model to be exact.

Honor and Vivo did not reveal their devices, however, both brands promised their new generation flagship phones will sport MediaTek’s flagship chipset.
