Late last year, OPPO announced the long-awaited Reno 5 Series. Today, the smartphone brand has officially launched its latest mid-range device to the Kenyan market.
The online launch was streamed live on YouTube and was honored by a couple of brand ambassadors including MC Jessy, Avril Nyambura, Kamene Goro, Martin Githinji, Jalang’o, Pascal Tokodi, and Maureen Waititu.
The OPPO Reno 5 was released to succeed its predecessor the Reno 4 launched last year. The smartphone comes with a 6.43” AMOLED HD+ Display with a 1080p resolution and a punch-hole cut out for the selfie camera.
In addition to the specs we reviewed last week, the device comes equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor and runs on Android 11 and Color OS 11.1.
Android 11 features Nearby Share, Power Button Menu, the ability to pin apps, and a scheduled dark mode. Meanwhile, Color OS 11.1 comes with rich UI modification options such as enhanced dark mode settings including Enhanced, Medium, and Gentle.
The smartphone supports dual-sim and comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. In terms of optics, the Reno 5 has a 44MP punch-hole selfie camera and a 64MP main rear camera while the 5F sports a 32MP punch-hole selfie camera and a 48MP main rear camera.
They both share an 8MP Ultrawide, 2MP depth, and 2MP macro sensor. Other features include Ultra-clear 108MP Image, Monochrome Video, and Night Flare Portrait.
One fascinating feature is the new Dual-view Video where both front and rear cameras record what’s happening and your reactions at the same time.
Pre-orders are available on all OPPO retail stores countrywide and online retail stores including Jumia. The OPPO reno 5 is selling at Kshs. 41,999 while the Reno 5F starts retailing from Kshs. 31,999.
