On a direct comparison, the Spark 8P reigns supreme in the display department. It is 0.1 inches larger than the Galaxy A12. A larger screen size always equals a wider point of view. This is an advantage especially when it comes to watching videos and playing games.

The TECNO Spark 8P comes equipped with the Helio G70 while the Helio P35 powers the Galaxy A12. Both chipsets from MediaTek are good but offer different results in terms of performance.

Whereas the P35 is a decent enough chipset, the G70 is optimized for gaming and running intensive user apps. Therefore, you can expect a faster and smoother performance from the Spark 8P compared to the Galaxy A12.

However, in terms of storage, both the Galaxy A12 and Spark 8P come with 4GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It’s also a bit disappointing that the Samsung Galaxy A12 comes running Android 10 out of the box, although it is upgradeable to Android 11 via a software update.

Commentary

Both the TECNO Spark 8P and Samsung Galaxy A12 are quite decent smartphones. However, on paper, the Spark 8p appears to offer better value for your money.
