iOS 13 makes buying the iPhone 6/6 Plus a not-so-good idea

Apple unveiled iOS 13, the next version of its mobile operating system, yesterday at the 2019 WWDC.

The update packs a number of exciting features that include a cool system wide dark mode, swipe on the keyboard and compatibility with XBOX and PS4 controllers. Overall, it’s a decent update and it’s obvious that lots of people are anxiously waiting for the update to hit their iPhones.

However, sadly not all iPhones will be receiving iOS 13. Apple announced that all iPhones below the 6S will not be compatible with iOS 13.

This isn’t much of an issue in developed smartphone markets where most consumers periodically update to the next version of the iPhone. It is, however, an issue is developing markets such as in Kenya where the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus are still quite popular.

It is therefore, prudent that in case you are shopping for an iPhone while on a budget to go for the iPhone 7 or later.
