Apple-iPhone-14-Pro-Max

Apple has today hosted its biggest event so far, Apple Far Out and has unveiled the long-awaited iPhone 14 series consisting of the iPhone 14, the iPhone 14 Max, the Pro, and the Pro Max. The new lineup comes with a bunch of new features predominantly on the design and performance side of things.

The Pro models look better and are faster coming powered by Apple’s new A16 bionic chip while the vanilla models retain the A15 used in the iPhone 13 series. They also sport a new pill-shaped cutout on the display branded Dynamic Island by Apple. The regular devices continue with the standard notch theme.

Both the iPhone 14 and 14 Pro boast a 6.1-inch display while the 14 Max(or Plus) and Pro Max pack 6.7-inch panels. The Pro models are brighter, peaking at 2,000 nits, and support refresh rates as low as 1Hz. Meaning Always on Display is now available to check widgets, time, and live activities.

Camera bumps have also gotten thicker plus there is a new purple color model that’s debuted. Speaking of cameras, the Pro models feature an upgraded 48MP “quad-pixel” camera setup. The iPhone 14 and Plus variant pulls off 12MP main shooters.

As for the battery, the iPhone 14 Plus, has the best battery on the iPhone, even better than the Pro models. It can last up to 26 hours of video playtime and 20 hours in the vanilla variant. The larger size allowed for a bigger capacity and improved the cooling system.

Aside from that, we have a bunch of other new features including crash detection, a Photonic Engine for the camera to brighten low-light photos, Action mode, and a Satelite feature for sending SoS messages. Additionally, Apple has added a new Autofocus feature upfront for better face recognition.

The iPhone 14 starts at $799 ( roughly Ksh. 97,000) while the Plus comes in at $899 (Ksh. 108,000). The Pro and Pro max start at $999 and $1099 respectively.
