iOS 13 makes it possible to play iPhone games using a PS4/XBOX controller

Apple unveiled iOS 13 yesterday at the WWDC. One of exciting features of the update is that it will be able to offer native compatibility support for the PS4/XBOX controller.

Lots of people use their iPhones as their primary gaming device and it will therefore, be pretty cool to be able to mimic the console experience on the iPhone.

Mobile gaming is lucrative and one of the fastest growing industries. By iOS 13 offering support for the controllers, developers can now have the impetus to figure out ways to make their games have native support for the controllers esp. in terms of automatically mapping the right buttons.

In addition to this, Apple is in most instances a trend-setter and with the announcement it is likely that more vendors will start including support on their devices as well.

It is noteworthy to mention that you can technically connect a PS4 controller to an Android smartphone, but the process is nowhere from being flawless.

The unveiling of the feature coincides with the launch of Apple’s Arcade gaming subscription service that allows users to pay a fixed amount to access a wide range of games.
