The Nokia 5.4 is a mid-range Android smartphone that was announced towards the end of 2020 but recently became available in Kenya.

The 5.4 has the standard Nokia mid-range smartphone vibe with the highlight being on its quad camera and display profile.

That said, let’s jump right into what the Nokia 5.4 has to offer.

However, what’s interesting is that 5.4 has a display profile that ranks slightly below in terms of sophistication when compared to that of its more affordable sibling, the Nokia 1.4.

There should be a reason for this, it’s probably something to do with keeping the costs down to keep the price of the Nokia 5.4 within the mid-range price category. Well, it’s still quite a bummer and the display struggles to offer a bang for your kes.

Operating System: Android 10

CPU: 2.0 GHz Octa-core (Qualcomm SM6115)

RAM: 4/6 GB

Internal Memory: 64/128 GB

Micro SD: Yes

A 2.0 GHz Octa-core powers the Nokia 5.4. This is coupled with 4/6 GB RAM. The set-up is quite good and the smartphone will be able to run pretty much all the standard apps and some high-intensive apps and games.

The Nokia 5.4 CPU is based on the Qualcomm SM6115 chipset engineering. The Qualcomm SM6115 platform has five unique selling prepositions; AI support, camera performance, efficiency and flawless location tracking and is Wi-Fi 6 ready.

The demerit is that the chipset isn’t 5G ready, which can be a deal-breaker for some customers.

Software-wise, the Nokia 5.4 runs Android 10 out of the box. This is a bummer and it would have been great if the smartphone ran the more recent Android 11 OS, now that it’s just a couple of months until Google unveils Android 12.

However, it is noteworthy to mention that Nokia promises three years of software updates. Nokia has in the past delivered this promise.
