Technology giant Google has announced new upgrades coming to Google maps including Live View indoor navigation and suggestions for eco-friendly routes.

Airports, train stations, and even malls can be tricky indoor places to navigate. It’s easy to get lost, especially when you are in a hurry and are not sure of where you’re going.

With the new Live View indoor navigation, however, it’s easy to make your way around. You only need to hold your phone up, point the camera at the world around you and arrows will appear directing you in the right direction. Previously, this only worked outdoors.

Additionally, Google is adding a new eco-friendly driving route option optimized for lower fuel consumption. If the eco-friendly route has a similar ETA as the fastest route, Maps will default to the fuel-efficient route. But you have the option of changing these options if you like.

Also, Maps will get a revamped interface that lets users scroll through a list of their different transportation options without having to toggle between tabs.

Some of the features announced have yet to be rolled out and it’s uncertain when some will be available in some parts of the world. Regardless, we can’t wait for them to arrive and make our navigating experiences better and easier.
