First Impressions

Out of the box, the first thing you will probably notice about the Reno5 F is the design. OPPO did a fantastic job with the design of the smartphone.

The Reno5 F is one of those smartphones you would gaze at every time you pull it out. The smartphone is an absolute tasty eye candy and this is impressive since some mid-range smartphones pay little attention to design cues and therefore, I’m really glad OPPO placed priority on this aspect.

A specific aspect of the OPPO Reno 5F that makes it gorgeous is probably the svelte profile of the smartphone. The smartphone has a thin design profile, the kind that gives off a premium vibe. It’s that type of design profile that will attract eyeballs because it’s just too stunning to ignore.

The display is also dazzling. It’s the AMOLED type so outdoor visibility while using the device is excellent and you get decent viewing angles. This makes the display just right for the outdoors, be it streaming the latest series from Netflix or playing games.

Speaking on streaming videos and playing games. Under the hood, the Reno5 F packs MediaTek’s Helio P95 chipset. The chipset is optimized exactly for this and you can, therefore throw pretty much every intensive game or app at the Reno5 F and the smartphone will be able to cope with the load.

The other noteworthy bit about the Reno5F is the battery. It’s one of the reasons why OPPO wants you to buy the smartphone. A Li-Po 4310 mAh battery keeps the lights on the Reno5 F and a moderate user can expect up to two days of usage.

However, the most exciting bit about the battery is that it supports flash charging. Flash charging is no longer a premium feature and with batteries getting larger, it’s prudent to have the feature.

With in-built 30W VOOC flash charging on the Reno5 you can swiftly juice up the battery while getting ready in the morning and the battery will keep you going throughout the day. Additionally, the smartphone’s battery-saving feature will give you up to one hour of calls from a 5% battery charge.

We are doing a separate article to test the real-life charging speed on the battery and that will be up in the coming days.

From my tone, you might have probably guessed that I like the device. Well, I have a cognitive bias towards elegant design in smartphones.

If you are out shopping for a new mid-range smartphone, the OPPO Reno5F is worth that second or third look.
